In our ancestral culture, the brotherhood between the sun and the moon allowed us to see something more than darkness. The understanding of complementing each other allowed them to create day and night, light and shadow; scenarios in which each one acquired a leading role. But there is a moment of integration and perfect harmony in which the two can shine and live together, where light and shadow create a story of unique beauty. Waning is the phase where the moon is visible during the day, where the protagonists of light and shadow coexist in the same space, celebrating the beauty of the interaction between two elements. Menguante is the story of the complementarity of opposites (Sun and Moon - Light and Shadow) that allows the coexistence and creation of something unique. This expression of complementarity is reflected in the art of lighting, where through objects and a game between light and shadow, an atmosphere is created that endows space with personality and unique character. The sculptural pieces of Menguante are works of art whose purpose is to elevate and give status to the environment where they are. Menguante is a project that rescues Colombian artisanal techniques, taking them to the world of lighting. Menguante’s concepts are light and shadow, creating a common thread, where through a process of investigation of the country's artisanal techniques, the brand finds its DNA. The exploration of traditional and endemic objects built with raw materials that the natural environment offers us such as clay, stone, and metal are mixed to trap the light in them and create ¨Light sculptures¨. Menguante develops atmospheres that lead the user to experience feelings and emotions from the light and shadow emitted by these timeless pieces.

En un mundo cegado por la luz las personas vivían sin conocer la belleza que los rodeba. Una destellante luz blanca opacaba todo lo que se encontraba a su alrededor, dejando a la vista simples formas y objetos sin sentido. Una luminosidad enceguecedora que poco a poco fue dejando a las personas desprovistas de la belleza y la estética. Pero no siempre fue así, antes a esto las personas vivían en la penumbra, en donde la ceguera que los poseía era completamente negra. Vivían con un temor constante ante la vida por la interminable oscuridad que los invadía. Cansados de vivir con tanta inseguridad, decidieron crear el mundo en el que se encontraban hoy, uno enteramente blanco. Sin embargo, era inevitable el sentimiento de desasosiego generalizado, ya que al vivir en un mundo tan estridente habían percibido que la oscuridad era un elemento indispensable de la belleza. Comprendieron que esa belleza que surgía de la realidad cotidiana se hallaba en los matices de la sombra y la luz tenue. De este modo, las personas empezaron a fabricar un mundo en el que el misterio y la belleza reinaba; añadiendo sombras y claroscuros dentro de aquella luminosidad estridente que se fue atenuando poco a poco.
Así, crearon un mundo empapado de una belleza misteriosa basada en la magia de las sombras, como extraída de la nada. Esta belleza produjo una atmósfera enigmática, provocando un cálido sosiego y una tranquilidad única en el diario vivir de las personas. Coincidieron en que los objetos no eran bellos en sí mismos, sino que lo eran gracias a luz contrastada contra ellos que a su vez formaba un universo de claroscuros. Las personas habían olvidado que un día había existido la oscuridad; la cual era la indispensable generadora de la belleza y que sin ella habitaban en la nada vacía. Su nuevo mundo era el desarrollo de un ideal estético único, en donde los objetos eran abrazados por una íntima relación entre la luz y la sombra.
